How to Replace a Toyota Key Fob Battery

The electrical signals are transmitted through this circuit board, that then responds based on the button you press.
It is important to clean this board often because it could become dirty over time. You can clean your key fob in a variety of ways, depending on the materials it's made of. You could either remove it to wash the circuit board with a cleaning solution or apply some rubbing ethanol on the contacts. Make sure you use this method with care and only where it's safe to do it.
The final option could be that you need a new fob shell. You can make it yourself, but you will need a few tools. You'll need to be able pry the case, which could require a screwdriver, or some force. You'll need to purchase an alternative key fob case, and you can usually find a cheaper one on the internet.
Broken Key Fob Battery Case
It's not common for key fob batteries to cease working or even break. It's easy and cheap to replace the battery in your Toyota key fob. You can purchase the replacement battery from your local hardware or home improvement store or electronics retailer. Typically, the fob needs one coin-shaped battery that looks like a small flat button. It must be identified with the size of the battery and may have a plus or minus sign to assist you in determining the proper way to insert the battery into the fob.
